Hi! My name is Rachel and I am a HCPC registered Art Psychotherapist based in Bolton.

My practice has developed into one that is psychodynamic, expressive and playful; helping children, young people and adults to process adversity and/or regulate through creative expression. Using a neuro-affirming, trauma- informed approach, I strive to help clients understand how past experiences shape the present and future. I integrate attachment theory with a person centred approach, creating a safe, collaborative space for self exploration through creativity. Having previously worked as a primary school teacher for 9 years, followed by 9 years running Sugar Lumps, I have extensive experience working with children and young people as well as adults. I specialise in working with trauma, anxiety and depression, disordered eating, grief, self harm and suicidal ideation, attachment difficulties, perinatal disorders, gender identity issues and domestic abuse.

I offer judgement free and inclusive support which is reflective of the individual. This will begin with an initial meeting where you get the chance to meet me in a space you feel comfortable. During this meeting we can talk about what therapy is and what you might want to get out of therapy.

This page will tell you a bit about what to expect from Art Psychotherapy sessions, so that you can think about whether Art Psychotherapy is the right choice for you.
